However, the leaderboard shifted on the second day when UAE’s Sam Mullins seized the lead with a total score of 139 (-5 under par), thanks to his steady and balanced play that placed him at the top by the end of Round 2.

The third round was a turning point in the championship. Moroccan professional El Mehdi Fakori delivered an outstanding performance, taking the overall lead with a total score of 213 (-3 under par). Fakori’s skill and focus made him the favorite to win the title as the championship approached its conclusion.

In the decisive fourth and final round, UAE amateur Jonathan Selvaraj made a remarkable comeback, finishing with a total score of 284 (-4 under par) to claim the championship title. Selvaraj excelled in the critical moments of the tournament, particularly in the third round, where he scored a stellar 66, solidifying his chances for victory. The battle for third place ended in an exciting tie between Morocco’s Amine El Kharraz (amateur) and El Mehdi Fakori (professional), both scoring 287 (-1 under par). Other Arab golfers also displayed commendable performances, with several achieving close and competitive results.

The championship, organized by the Arab Golf Federation, added significant value for participants, offering invitations to the top 10 professionals and the top 2 amateurs to compete in Asian Development Tour events, including the Rumanza Championship in Pakistan and the Lexus Challenge in Vietnam. This initiative aligns with the Federation’s efforts to enhance the international presence of Arab players and support their professional development.

Tournament officials emphasized that the primary goal of this event was to create a competitive environment for Arab golfers and provide them with a platform to excel and refine their skills. They also praised the high level of organization and the sportsmanship displayed throughout the championship, expressing optimism for the future of golf in the Arab world.
