The General Assembly of the Arab Golf Federation convened in Riyadh, chaired by the President of the Arab Golf Federation, His Excellency Yasir Al-Rumayyan, with the participation of presidents and representatives of Arab golf federations and executive committee members. The meeting was held in a hybrid format, combining both in-person and virtual attendance. The assembly discussed several key topics related to the development of golf in the Arab world.
During the meeting, the achievements of the Federation over the past year were reviewed, along with future plans aimed at enhancing golf's position as a growing sport in the region.
The meeting which was chaired by His Excellency Yasir Al-Rumayyan, with the First Vice President of the Arab Golf Federation, Mostafa Al-Zein (Morocco), the Second Vice President Abdulaziz Al-Mulla (Kuwait), Secretary-General Noh Ali Reza (Saudi Arabia), and Abdulaziz Al-Anzi (Saudi Arabia), representing the Union of Arab Sports Federations.
The meeting was attended by presidents and representatives of national federations, including Abdulkarim Al-Barghouthi (Jordan), Abdullah Al-Hashimi (UAE), Adel Al-Fayadh (Bahrain), Maher Bouchamaoui (Tunisia), Mohamed Ali Noor (Somalia), Hamed Al-Kanani (Iraq), Ahmed Al-Jahdhami (Oman), Tarek Al-Husseini (Palestine), Fahad Al-Naimi (Qatar), Karim Bek Salaam (Lebanon), Dr. Salem Mohamed Mousa (Libya), Omar Hisham Talaat (Egypt), and Mostafa Al-Zein (Morocco).
The Executive Committee members in attendance included vice presidents Mostafa Zein (Morocco), Abdulaziz Al-Mulla (Kuwait), Tarek Al-Husseini (Palestine), Karim Bek Salaam (Lebanon), Mohamed Al-Fetni (Tunisia), Hatem Reda Guiga (Tunisia), Fareihane Bouchamaoui (Tunisia), Mundhir Al-Barwani (Oman), Abdullah Al-Hashimi (UAE), and Ghassan Qabbani (Egypt).
At the beginning of the meeting, His Excellency Yasir Al-Rumayyan welcomed the General Assembly members and the Executive Committee members, expressing his appreciation for their continuous efforts in supporting the advancement of golf in the Arab world. He also congratulated the Arab champions on their recent achievements in Arab tournaments, emphasizing that these accomplishments reflect hard work and outstanding sportsmanship.
Al-Rumayyan pointed out that the Arab Golf Federation aims to produce Arab champions who can compete in major international tournaments. He noted that this goal aligns with the Federation's vision to strengthen the sport as a key pillar for community development in the Arab world and to inspire youth.
Secretary-General Noh Ali Reza highlighted the Federation’s role in providing all necessary resources and tools to nurture Arab talents and enable their participation in international events. He stressed the importance of creating opportunities for Arab players to engage with elite global players to support their growth.
The Federation also celebrated the achievement of Moroccan Arab champion Adam Bresnu, who secured sixth place in the Saudi International Championship held recently in Riyadh, marking the best result ever achieved by an Arab player in the tournament's history.
The Arab Golf Federation welcomed the appointment of Omar Hisham Talaat as the new President of the Egyptian Golf Federation. Additionally, the Federation extended its gratitude to Executive Committee member and former Vice President of the Egyptian Golf Federation, Teymour Abou El Kheir, for his contributions to the sport of golf. The Federation also welcomed the inclusion of Naomi, Secretary-General of the Qatar Golf Federation, to the Executive Committee.
The meeting concluded with discussions on financial and administrative reports, as well as the strategic plan for 2025, which focuses on developing all tournaments across various age groups, including juniors, professionals, men, and women.
