Morocco welcomes the Arab Golf Championships
Rabat, 28 July 2023:
Chaired by His Royal Highness Prince Moulay Rachid, the Royal Moroccan Golf Federation (FRMG) is co-organizing with the Arab Golf Federation (AGF), in partnership with the Royal & Ancient (R&A), the 42nd Arab Amateur Golf Championships which will take place from July 27th to the 29th on the Casa Green Golf course and the 1st Arab Professional Championships from August 1st to the 4th on the same course.
These two regional amateur and professional competitions will see the participation of Lebanon, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Oman, Palestine, Qatar, Kuwait, Libya, Egypt, Morocco and Tunisia. The latter had won the amateur title last December at home on the Golf de la Cigale in Tabarka.
These events will promote the talents of Arab players, enhance cultural exchanges, and strengthen ties within the sports community.
On this occasion, Mr. Mustapha Zine, 1st Vice-President of the Royal Moroccan Golf Federation and Vice-President of the Arab Golf Federation confirmed that "Under the Presidency of His Royal Highness Prince Moulay Rachid, the FRMG attaches tremendous importance to the collaboration with the Arab Golf Federation for the development of golf in the Arab world"and that he "was delighted, in his capacity as Vice-President of these two prestigious entities, of this meeting which is a true celebration of our culture and values of golf, all in a favorable sporting context."
Mr. Majed Al Sorour, General Secretary of the Arab Golf Federation said: "AGF are proud to have the 42nd Pan Arab Men’s Championship and 1st Pan Arab Pro Championship hosted in beautiful Morocco. The Royal Moroccan Golf Federation has a long history of hosting AGF Championships and once again the initiative from the team in Morocco under the guidance of His Royal Highness Prince Moulay Rachid in supporting to establish and hosting the 1St Pan Arab Pro Championship is another step to strengthening the level of competitiveness amongst Arab Elite Players and providing significant pathways to players being able to represent the region on the world stage."
Mr. Jalil Benazzouz, President of the Competitions Organizing Committee, explained that he was “delighted to announce these events organized by the FRMG and the AGF. They offer a unique opportunity for Arab golfers to compete at the highest level. The first edition of the Arab Professional Championship is an entry point for Arab professional golf, and I am proud to be among the first contributors. It is important to highlight that on the sidelines of this competition, the results of Moroccan participants will count for the 2023 Moroccan Pro and Elite Championships."

About the Royal Moroccan Golf Federation “FRMG”:
Chaired by His Royal Highness Prince Moulay Rachid since January 2018, the Royal Moroccan Golf Federation "FRMG", founded on March 12, 1960, is a sports federation whose purpose is to provide access to all to the practice of golf, under all its forms. It ensures compliance with the rules of ethics laid down by the international sports movement, particularly the International Golf Federation and the African Golf Confederation.

About the Arab Golf Federation:
The Arab Golf Federation was founded in 1974 during the Al Nile and Arz Golf Championships. The organization represents the collective interests of 19 member countries, whose mission, recognized by the R&A and the Arab Olympic Committee, is to streamline the governance of the game in the Arab world and improve the overall development of golf by creating opportunities game for its members.
About the R&A:
The Royal and Ancient was founded on 14 May 1754. Evolving over 250 colorful years of British history, it has grown from a small society to a club with 2,500 members worldwide.
The R&A is a group of companies that has developed three distinct areas of responsibility – administration of the Rules of Golf in conjunction with the USGA, management of The Open and other key golf events, and game development in existing and emerging golf nations.
