A Remarkable Conclusion to the GCC Golf Championships Amidst Competitive Spirit and Praise for Development

The GCC Golf Championships concluded successfully from December 20 to 25 in the Omani capital, Muscat, featuring wide participation from Gulf national teams. The event fostered a competitive atmosphere that reflected the spirit of cooperation and integration among the GCC countries. This year’s championship included four diverse categories, highlighting the expansion and commitment to nurturing emerging golf talents in the region.

In the Ladies' category, the UAE team secured first place after a strong performance, followed by Saudi Arabia in second place, and Bahrain in third. On the individual level, UAE's Lara Al Chaib clinched the title, with her teammates Intissar Rich and Faye Al Blooshi finishing in second and third places, respectively.

In the Girls Under-16 category, the UAE team maintained its dominance by taking first place, with Saudi Arabia in second and Oman in third. Individually, Anca Mateiu (UAE) shone brightly, securing the title, followed by Sara Abubaker (UAE) in second place and Talia Al Musbahi (Saudi Arabia) in third place.

In the Boys Under-16 category, Qatar emerged as the champions, with Oman taking second place and the UAE securing third. On the individual level, Daniil Sokolov (Qatar) claimed the top spot, while Adam Al Barwani (Oman) and Pransh Jagwani (Oman) finished second and third, respectively.

For the Boys Under-13 category, Oman dominated the competition, securing first place with a comfortable margin. Bahrain finished second, and Saudi Arabia came in third. Individually, Yusuf Al Rumhy (Oman) clinched the title, followed by Taimur Al Busaidi (Oman) and Abdulla Khalil (Bahrain) in second and third places, respectively.

This year’s championship was marked by the third edition of the Under-13 category, the eighth edition of the Under-16 category, and the seventh edition of the Ladies' category. Additionally, it saw the launch of the inaugural Girls Under-16 category, showcasing the tournament’s growth and its dedication to supporting various age groups and promoting the sport among younger generations.

The championship spanned five days of intense competition among participating teams, solidifying its position as one of the most prominent sporting events in the GCC region.

Consultative Meeting of Gulf Delegation Heads

On the sidelines of the championship, a consultative meeting was held, bringing together the heads of participating delegations and representatives of Gulf golf federations. The meeting, chaired by Fayez Riyadh, Vice President of the Oman Golf Federation, focused on discussing ways to enhance the sport of golf in the Gulf region and GCC countries. Future plans to support and develop the sport, ensuring its sustainability and wider reach among different age groups, were also discussed. The meeting provided an opportunity to exchange ideas and proposals that serve the best interests of golf in the region, underscoring a shared commitment to advancing this important sport.
